DR. JENNIFER WU

Research Fellow

Dr. Jennifer Wu

Research Fellow, PLIANT INSTITUTE

Dr. Jennifer Wu is a Research Fellow at PLIANT, where she leads the institute's data science workstream — overseeing the Atlas Intelligence Database infrastructure and developing the predictive threat models that underpin PLIANT's disruption forecasting capability.

A computational social scientist by training, she brings a rigorous quantitative lens to questions of supply chain vulnerability, information asymmetry, and nation-state behavior in global logistics networks.

Dr. Wu joined PLIANT following a fellowship at the Brookings Institution. Her research has appeared in leading journals on computational modeling, geopolitical risk, and critical infrastructure policy.

Dr. Wu holds a PhD in Computational Social Science from the University of Chicago, an MS in Statistics from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Applied Mathematics from UC Berkeley.

Research Areas

Dr. Wu maintains an active research portfolio at the intersection of computational social science and supply chain security. Her current work investigates:

PREDICTIVE MODELING & FORECASTING
  • Corridor-level disruption forecasting at 30, 60, and 90-day horizons

  • Comparative evaluation of machine learning architectures for logistics prediction

  • Model robustness under data quality degradation and geopolitical volatility

NETWORK SCIENCE & COMPUTATIONAL METHODS
  • Quantitative measurement of information asymmetry in logistics networks

  • Graph-theoretic approaches to supply chain vulnerability identification

  • High-risk network configuration detection using structural analytics

SUPPLY CHAIN VULNERABILITY ANALYTICS
  • Atlas Intelligence Database infrastructure and data governance

  • Integration of heterogeneous data streams for disruption risk modeling

  • Geopolitical risk indicator development for logistics forecasting applications
